As we reach The Top 1000, one would think that we would be entering the territory of songs we all hear most often on Classic Rock Radio these days ... but, as you've seen throughout this countdown, this isn't necessarily the case.
That's because this isn't a countdown of what radio is playing ...
It is a countdown of what listeners actually want to hear!
And therein lies the big difference.
Despite all the the high-paid consultants tell us (which has created hundreds of cookie-cutter classic rock stations from coast to coast) some of their so-called "sure-fire picks" didn't fare very well in our countdown after we reached out to the people who matter the most ... the listeners ... and asked them to cast their votes for their favorites.
Every one of these Top 1000 tunes belongs in rotation ... as do at least another 1200-1500 from the bottom 2333.
Will radio wise up and give its listeners what they REALLY want? Or will they simply continue to follow like sheep and do nothing to make their station stand out from the hundreds of others playing the exact same thing, every single day?
A lot of that rests on YOUR shoulders. You HAVE to contact your favorite stations and request your favorites. You HAVE to tell them about all of the GREAT discoveries you've made following along with our countdown ...
Or you're doomed to suffer the same fate, uninterrupted, till the end of time.
You've already taken the first step by voting ...
Now see it through and let classic rock radio know how you feel!
It's the ONLY way we can make the listening experience better for all of us. (kk)
